Hi! My name is Keith O’Sullivan, and I am a motivational speaker-cum-business consultant with a passion for helping people grow their very own start-up business.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I started my first year out of university in the start-up industry. Along with three of my fellow graduates, we launched a start-up in the technology field. At that time, the Silicone Valley stories from across the Pond were all the rage. We had big dreams of becoming the next big thing! Not necessarily the next Microsoft, but something quite close to it.
Needless to say, our venture was a bust.
Profits never materialized, and after a year of hard-hitting losses, my partners decided to cut their losses. Two of them went back to school to take up a ‘degree they can get a job in’ while the third found a post working in the government.
Stubborn as I was, I couldn’t imagine giving up on what I thought would be my dream job. I didn’t even think of it as work by then! It was a passion that just wouldn’t let up.
So, after months of trial and error, numerous times of going back to the drawing board, and the occasional bouts of nearly giving up, I finally made it!
Currently, I own major positions in several companies that I either helped found or companies whose success I had a hand in. Despite the busy schedule, I still find time to occasionally travel here and there on consultation and speaking appointments.
I have never been one to rest on my laurels, and I want you to know that starting (and maintaining) a business isn’t reserved for university graduates or people who come from old money. My father, who was a librarian, taught me that as long as you keep a hunger for knowledge and success in you, then everything else will follow.
In this blog, I’ll be writing about anything and everything that has to do with making your start-up work and work well. This could include anything from business advice to online marketing tips to hacking your company’s growth. Heck, I might even throw in some inspirational posts and life counselling here and there!
You might ask me where I find the time to run a blog with everything I am currently juggling. Simply put, I find it enjoyable. Despite the hectic travelling and the fact that I barely find time to take a breather, I don’t feel any stress in my life. It might partly have to do with the massive support from my friends and family, but it is also because of the fact that I love the work that I do and the help I can give to other entrepreneurs like myself.
The joy I take in my work brings me further than any amount of blood, sweat, and tears.
I was born and raised in Fulham, England. And it goes without saying that I’m a diehard Chelsea fan, having played a bit of soccer myself back in university.
I’m currently married to a beautiful wife who makes life seem easy and am the father of a rambunctious 2-year old boy who never seems to run out of questions. At the age of 29, I can say that life couldn’t be better.
